East Midlands Mensa invite you to a Party Night

from 7.30 pm to midnight on Saturday 7th February 2009 at Greasley Parish Hall Dovecote Road, Newthorpe, Nottingham, NG16 3QN

There will be a free buffet and free bar (with beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks though feel free to bring your own if you have particular tastes) and disco so you can dance the night away.

Dress code smart/casual.

Admission is totally free to all members and their guests but you must add your name to the guest list. This will help our catering and ensure we do not exceed maximum capacity for fire regulations.

HOW TO GET THERE

By car: Exit M1 J26. Follow A610 towards Eastwood. Take first exit signed Ikea. At roundabout go right then take middle lane to go straight over next roundabout. Follow Nottingham Road uphill for approx. one mile. Turn right immediately before zebra crossing onto Dovecote Road. Greasley Parish Hall is 1/4 mile on the right. There is a car park at the rear of the hall.

By train: The nearest train station is Langley Mill, approx. 2 miles away.

  • D H Lawrence Birthplace, 8a Victoria Street, Eastwood. Controversial author D H Lawrence was born here. The rooms are decorated as they would have been during his childhood in the 1880s. There are guides to tell you about the rooms, a film show and exhibition on Lawrence's travels.
  • Durban House Heritage Centre, Mansfield Road, Eastwood. Built in 1896 and now fully renovated as an interactive exhibition depicting the town of Eastwood in bygone years. There is a small restaurant.
  • Blue Line Trail. A walking trail visiting the four Lawrence family homes in Eastwood and other sites associated with the author. Pick up a leaflet at either the D H Lawrence Birthplace or Durban House Heritage Centre.
