Pamper Party Review

A Drink in the Hot Tub.
Taking care of the eyes.
Foot spa.
Back Massage.

On Saturday 9th June 2007

A dozen ladies met at my house for an evening of pampering by qualified beautician Emily, who runs her own business called Ugly Duckling. Having selected which treatments we wanted in advance, Emily had devised a schedule. But having emailed it round nearly everyone then wanted a different time slot due to changes in their work schedule or family commitments! But after some re-scheduling the event ran smoothly.

The lounge was converted into a beauty salon with a treatment couch, foot spa, wax heater, boxes of lotions and potions, and piles of fluffy towels. Between us we had selected to enjoy a facial, French manicure, pedicure, aromatherapy back massage, Indian head massage, scalp massage, leg wax, lip wax, eye brow wax, eye lash tint, false lashes and body polish. This made it an interesting evening for both the participants and Emily. There weren't even any screams when the waxing was taking place!

I'd provided a buffet of pasta, pizza, salad and French bread which was augmented by Merry bringing a cheesecake, Rachel two trifles and Christine a box of Swiss chocolates. Nobody went hungry! There were also plenty of drinks of both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic variety for those who were driving or pregnant.

When not having their own pamper session guests enjoyed the food, chatting, making new friends, sitting in the garden, splashing around in the hot tub or watching Helen demonstrate her Pixelhobby craft. The evening whizzed by with the last guest departing just before midnight.

Everyone found it excellent value for money even without the 10% party discount. Emily worked non-stop from 4.30 pm to 10.30 pm pampering us all in her friendly and professional style. "Was really good to receive some pampering", "a nice treat", "a pleasant, friendly and relaxing evening" are just some of the comments I've received.

It was so much fun we're doing it again on Saturday 1st September! Come and join us next time.
