Join the Professor of Nanoscale Physics and the Professor of Astrophysics and Space Science at Leicester University for an insight into space science and technology.
Leicester University is the leading centre in the UK for space research and education. They were a principal partner in NASA's Beagle 2 project and responsible for a large part of its scientific payload. The university was also the inspiration for the nearby National Space Centre, where there is an optional visit on Sunday 27th April.
British Mensa has partnered with the University to give members a unique insight into Britain's work on space research, resulting in our first Space Science Day where the university open their doors to members and present two Mensa lectures on their exciting work. The cost is £17.50 per adult or £14.00 per child and includes all materials for activities, Mensa exclusive talks and lunch. Families and guests are most welcome. Booking deadline is 18th April 2008.

Discounted tickets costing £9.00 per person are available to visit the National Space Centre on Sunday 27th April. (Standard admission costs £12.00.) The attraction includes six themed galleries full of exhibits, hands-on activities, artefact displays, simulators, actual rockets and a planetarium show in their Space Theatre. An average visit lasts four hours. The National Space Centre is located just off the A6, two miles north of Leicester city centre and is well signposted.
