Bradwell Windmill

Bradwell Windmill

The Bradwell Windmill was erected in 1817 from locally quarried limestone next to the Grand Union Canal and is a prominent feature in the New Bradwell area of Milton Keynes.

Inside there are 3 floors It has been beautifully restored to working order and of particular interest is an early use of the universal joint. Another unusual feature is the small fireplace on the ground floor. Only one other mill in Britain is known to have this extraordinary risk as flour dust is notoriously explosive!
