One Week In 1952

Book cover:

I live in Nottingham. and I worked as a Chartered accountant in practice for 50 years. I retired in 2010 aged 75.

In lockdown retirement I wrote a novel, 'One Week In 1952', and was fortunate to find a publisher. The book was published on 31.1.22 and is available in book form and as an e-book kindle.

It is an adventure story set 70 years ago and it illustrates the differences in lifestyle between then and now. Although not autobiographical it is partly based on my own memories. The main characters are Tom, aged 8, and his Aunt Siobhan, 18 who is called to look after him when his parents are away. The story starts in London and moves to a holiday in Margate, where Tom inadvertently manages to save several lives and they both experience plenty of other action. There is also a great deal of humour throughout the book.
